dls General Statement on Environmental Policy
dynamic learning solutions Ltd (dls) design, develop and deliver bespoke management development and interpersonal skills programmes and deliver client provided training programms.
dls is committed to continuing quality improvement and prevention of pollution in all areas of its business. dls are conscious that their day-to-day operations may inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways. It is therefore the responsibility of dls to minimise their effects on both local ecosystems and the global environment.
AIMS
dls Ltd aims to continuously improve its environmental performances as far as resources allow and will do this by:
• Conserving Energy
• Complying with current Legislation
• Complying with Legal and other requirements
• Reducing Waste
• Reducing Consumption
• Recycling
• Re-using waste paper when possible
• Purchase recycled office consumables and other products and materials
• Reviewing the Environmental Policy annually
RESPONSIBILITY
Management, Employees and Sub-Contractors
All staff, management and contractors working for or on behalf of dls Ltd are expected to follow the principles of the Environmental Policy and other guidance.
dls are committed to:
1. Education
dls aim to ensure that environmental issues are always incorporated within the company policy, while encouraging staff to adopt sound environmental practices both and work and at home.
2. Reduce Energy Consumption
dls aim to design energy efficiency into new services, premises and products, and manage energy wisely in all operations. In particular:
• To conserve energy by replacing lighting at the end of its life with low energy light bulbs and fluorescent tubes and by providing members of staff with free energy efficient light bulbs to use at home
• Replacing equipment at the end of their use with dls with energy efficient equipment
3. Reduce Harmful Emissions
dls aim to reduce, wherever possible, the levels of harmful emissions from the premises
4. Local Ecology
dls aim to be aware of their environmental impact all immediate neighbours
5. Recycling
dls aim to actively promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, both in the products sold and in internal operations
• Electronic equipment will be replaced with equipment that is as quiet as possible, is capable of being recycled or reused and is recycled or reused at the end of its use by dls
• All toner cartridges are recycled at the end of their use by dls
6. Paper
dls will work to reduce its use of paper by:
• Printing double sided when practical to do so and re-use paper whenever possible before recycling
• When possible to purchase products packaged in recycled cardboard packaging, or packaging that can be re-used or recycled
• Use of scap paper for printing draft documents
7. Transportation of Course Materials
dls seek to reduce the impact of transportation of course materials by:
• Sending course materials to associates via email
• Asking participants to work through blended learning packs electronically rather than printing them
• Offering the client the option of printing dls materials on-site from an electronic master both to reduce transport and to prevent over-supply
• Asking clients to shred and recycle unwanted course materials rather than returning them to dls (specifically for one-off contacts or where materials are updated regularly)
8. Travel
dls seek to limit the impact of travel by:
• Replacing face-to-face meetings with telephone and conference calls
• Reducing the length of consultant journeys by offering full reimbursement for travel by public transport whilst imposing restrictions for the use of private cars
• Encouraging fuel economy and car sharing by imposing restrictions on travel expenses for the use of private cars
• Discouraging air travel
9. Continuous Improvment in Environment Performance
Throughout dls operations, dls will always aim to meet environmental legislation.
The policy statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. The manamagement team endorses these policy statements and is fully committed to the implementation.
