Diversity and equality
When facilitating programmes, we ensure that people value one another as individuals, and for the differences between them, harnessing those to improve business performance and services for all customers.
We promote diversity and equality proactively.
Examples include:
- providing large print handouts for partially-sighted participants
- preparing participant notes on pastel paper, using a font that is easier for people with dyslexia to read (Comic Sans and Arial)
- exploring the most comfortable seating position for people with partial hearing
- considering the most appropriate layout for any wheelchair user
- discussing any special arrangements that need to be made in the event of a fire drill or evacuation
- encouraging participants to establish a course contract at the beginning of programmes, setting out how participants will work and respect each other
- immediately challenge, in full group, any inappropriate comments or behaviour
- we rarely encounter inappropriate comments or behaviour, but when they do occur they are reported to clients and dealt with quickly.
